It's Sunday and it's family day today. So when family plans a trip to town, I chic my style with a little bit of Alice + Olivia from Spring/Summer 2019. Now, before anyone gets to excited, this is actually not what I truly wear to town. Sorry, but The Sparkling Unicorn is still a struggling individual so technically and truthfully, I can't afford to wear an attire of Alice + Olivia. However, this did sparked some inspiration. The combination of this outfit is truly amazing. It's both chic and punk at the same time. This is why I love Stacy Bennett because her design aesthetic is truly compatible to a lot of humble Muslimah out there who loves fashion as much as I do. Also, this look super comfortable to wear to town especially when we are talking about KL Town (Kuala Lumpur).

Sparkling Unicorn in Anna Sui
Another casual Friday at work, of course I have to fly and this Anna Sui lavender and powder blue dress and jacket from her Spring/Summer 2019 collection, just perfect for me. Again, since it's Friday, of course the day will start with eight hours of work and will end with some fun time either with the family or friends and this sweet and pastel coloured could go both ways.

Sparkling Unicorn in Alberta Ferretti
The most recent Spring/Summer 2019 Fashion Week has wrapped up (a few months ago) and me being the lover of Fashion, I just had to do this. Now, I know many will start talking and comparing my post to one of a popular fashion blogger Fifi Lapin. I won't try to validate myself and try to worm my way out because it's true, Fifi Lapin was one of the fashion bloggers and illustrators who inspired to do my post in illustrations. And considering that I can never afford the clothes on those famous runways, well, illustrating was the only option left. So thank you Fifi Lapin for your inspiration. Anyways, back to me, The Sparkling Unicorn, I love the recent Alberta Ferretti collection and this was one that really goes well with my humble Muslimah style. This is perfect for me to wear for work especially during those casual Fridays. Comfortable and stylish - what else should I say?

Sparkling Unicorn on The Real with Vision Boards
Here's another share of my current favourite daytime talk show, The Real which discusses the matter of preparing Vision Boards. I have always heard about Vision Boards but I have never made one or even think about making one for myself. That is until after Adrienne, Jeannie, Tamera and Loni discussed about it. It gives me a new perspective and probably purpose to make one for myself.

Sparkling Unicorn on The Real Girl Chats About PAs
If you have followed my blog, you will know how much I am crazy obsessed with The Real Daytime Show hosted by Jeannie Mai, Loni Love, Adrienne Bailon and Tamera Mowry-Housley. I even blogged about the show once about why I love the show so much. One topic they had shared during Girl Chat (A section in their show where they discuss about topics most women love to discuss) is 'What will you do if you had an assistant?' and here the women are crazy hilarious.

Unicorn Reads Hello, I Love You by Katie M. Stout
I have always wanted to do this, to blog about the books I read but considering that I hardly have the time to really enjoy a book, I never have the time to do it. So now since I am trying to make time for my blog and also more time for me, I guess I have finally have the time to actually pick up a book and read and perhaps blog about the book as well. Now here goes nothing, my next book to read is Hello, I Love You by Katie M. Stout. The reason I picked up this book is because of the lone fact that the book is about a girl falling for a Kpop artiste and almost everyone in my life knows how obsessed I am over Kpop boys. However, going through the Goodreads reviews, it doesn't seem to live up to anyone's expectations but that shouldn't hold me back from reading this myself, right? Let's see what happens in the next few days for me.

Sparkling Plan : Travelling to Tokyo
It's been a while since I blogged and I know there was a time when I wanted to change myself but as usual, I fell into a plateau and decided not to change. Well, I realized that the reason why I failed in changing my lifestyle and changing myself was because my life has become a cycle of boredom. I practice a lifestyle that was the same for the past less than 20 years ago. It was always waking up, go to work, eat and sleep. There was never anything exciting happening in my life. Plus, work has always been crazy stressful but that's a whole different story that I do not wish to share. Mostly because this blog is not for me to rant about my work or the people in my life but really about the world away from my personal life. So without truly thinking through and of course after having to suffer from Bell's Palsy, I guess I hit rock bottom with my life and I want to climb up again.

Unicorn Speaks : You Think It, The Real Says It
Back in 2013, Fox Channel decided to introduced five women to co-host in a daytime talk show similar to The View and The Talk calling it The Real. The five co-hosts were Jeannie Mai (my fave!), Tamera Mowry-Housley, Adrienne Bailon (now know as Houghton), Loni Love and former co-host Tamar Braxton. It took me only three years ago, which was a year after the show aired, for me to know about it and I came across it because Jeannie Mai is one of my life inspiration. After watching a few videos on Youtube (sadly, they don't air the show in Malaysia) I fell in love with it.

Unicorn Diary : Twenty Eighteen Resolution
2017 is about to end soon so it is that time of the year where we will ask everyone around what is our 2018 resolutions. I, for one, was never that person with any kind of resolution. However, a few weeks back, some things have been running around in my mind and I guess I will be blogging about it. I just realized, this is only my second post for the year...how sad is that?

Sparkling Project Two : A Change of Lifestyle

The time has come or it should come for me to start on a new journey. A journey to make a difference for myself. A change for my own benefit. I have the the tools, the directions and the plan. What I currently lack is the motivation and the jump start. In order to initiate this new change of lifestyle for me and in me, there seem to be a lot that I have to sacrifice.
I am not one who is interested in diet. I am also not one who is ever ashamed or careful about my physique. I am aware that I have plumped up and gained a few pounds but I am also aware that I am not unhealthy...yet. But for the past few months and years, I have been suffering from slightly severe skin problems. Notably it is called eczema. Apparently, according to my specialist, I have not suffered from severe eczema yet but I am neither that safe. What I need to do is first to change my diet.
Six whole months with no sugar and dairy and daily intake of blueberries (apparently the best cure for skin problems). Worst of all, I have to avoid any intake of rice, flour, bread and other related food for an entire month. This is why I am still pushing back the start of my new change. On top of that, I have to also do early mornings workout i.e. breeze walking around the park and change my bed sheets and pillowcases weekly in order to improve my skin condition.
Thus the reasons why I am still a little lazy to start on this newly recommended change. But time is running out for me and I really need to start...soon. Which brings me to the reason why I decided to blog about this. I am going to blog my weekly changes and improvements mainly for my own records. But hopefully, along the way I will soon learn about the reasons behind my changes like the benefits of blueberries and the types of food that helps to cure my eczema and of course perhaps, a few simple recipes that could benefit others with skin problems like me.

Sparkling Unicorn Inspiration : My Future
It's Saturday and while most of the day I was out with the family and updating the office's accounting system, I spend a few hours reading Lauren Conrad's book, Celebrate (Just bought it!!) and a few inspirations came into my mind. All my life I have always dreamt of being a write, writing about anything but of course mostly about fiction stories. But there are also times when I wanted to write about my life and the culture and lifestyle that inspires me and the people I love. Then a thought came into my mind. What do I want to be when I'm older than I am, right now?
I'm not going to sugarcoat anything but although I am currently trying to establish my career right now, I don't really see myself just being an Accountant for my Dad's company. I do see myself to do a lot more and I'm not talking about just writing books. Indeed writing will always be in the picture but there are other things that I would really want to do (Aside from finding Mr. Right and get married).
It won't be a surprise for me to say this, I have always had a love for fashion and I do have a dream of starting my own design, becoming a fashion designer. My mother is never encouraging of this because she believes I don't have a style. Truly, I believe that my personal style don't sit well with her as it is not crisp and clean like hers. I'm more eccentric, I must say. as I prefer big, bold and colourful patterns and colours. Not to mention shapes as well. And if I were to give an excuse over my distasteful sense of personal style, I do wish to dress better but my body shape is weird and I don't really have the moolah to really overhaul my wardrobe. Although that would be a dream!!
There's more. I'm not those crazy fancy artistes who makes arts to express themselves. My way of expressing myself is by writing (fictional short or long stories). However, I do have interest with arts and crafts i.e. candle making, jewelry making, soaps and those kinds of things. It would be a lot of fun to have a small shop selling my own clothes and craft goods.
I'm thirty now, and I do ask myself if I will be able to achieve all these. I mean, I am slightly running out of time but as Professor Dumbledore had once said, time is mysterious thing. You never know when and what is going to happen. Sometimes a bad thing can be good, and vice versa. It is the way of the Creator where we can't question too many times. I do have faith but to get all those requires lots of hard work and also it means that I need to change my attitude. No more slacking because that is my problem, slacking.
